Firefighters in the Sky
When emergencies occur in the skyscrapers of Dubai, firefighters now can handle them with jetpacks. The city, located in the United Arab Emirates, has many high-rise buildings, so it recently partnered with the Martin Aircraft Company Limited. The company will provide jetpacks, training simulators, spare parts with training services, and operational support to Dubai’s rescue crews.
Jetpacks can access cramped spaces, take off and land vertically, and transfer as much as 120 kg. They can also be moved by a pilot or with a remote control.
The jetpack technology will play an important role in high-rise rescue, supervision, deploying specialist teams, and more.
